What Is CDI?
The Camp David Internship is a nine month program where students choose to immerse themselves in an environment designed to facilitate growth in both spiritual depth and practical experience. The program consists of approximately twenty-five hours a week spent ministering before the Lord and serving/participating in the various activities and events that are currently available at the Chicago House of Prayer. The internship schedule includes:
-
Time spent in the prayer room involving prophetic intercession, apostolic prayer, contemplative silence and devotional worship
-
Training in the Chicago House of Prayer harp and bowl method of worship and prayer
-
Large-group teachings on the Song of Solomon, the Life of David, the Forerunner Spirit, the Fasted Lifestyle and the Bridal Paradigm
-
Exclusive small-group teaching/ministry
-
A weekly book study, covering books on the contemplative lifestyle and prayer by a variety of Christian authors
-
Completing weekly/monthly logistical tasks around the House of Prayer (cleaning, restocking, decorating, etc.)
-
Lots of fun and fellowship opportunities (movie nights, day trips, cook-outs, etc.)
Purpose
The Camp David Internship asks that you dedicate nine months to being formed into the image of Christ. During that time we desire to see:
Revelation 19:7 says, “Let us rejoice and be glad and give glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.” We want you to become that bride. That you would take hold of your Divinely ordained destiny and would walk in the fullness of all that God has for your life.
Requirements
All interns must meet the following requirements:
-
Attend both Monday night and Friday night sessions (weekly)
-
Attend Thursday morning teachings and book studies (weekly)
-
Attend additional hours (of your choice) in the Prayer Room during other sessions for a minimum of 22 hours (weekly)
-
Meet with group leaders to discus progress, problems, or any other issues involving the internship (weekly)
-
Complete the assigned reading (weekly)
-
Compose a 2-3 page paper commenting and/or expounding on the concepts covered during the book studies (after completing each book)
-
Participate (as a singer, musician, prayer leader, or sound technician) in at least one worship session or help with bookstore management (weekly)
-
Attend the intern movie night (monthly)
Because this program is meant to be a time of intimate focus upon the Lord, no dating will be allowed for the entire nine months. Also, both housing and transportation will be the responsibility of each intern. Finally, we expect that you bring energy, enthusiasm, and a heart that is prepared to engage in worship to every session and activity you participate in at the House of Prayer.
Focuses
Much of the growth and change you will see in your life will be very specific to your own personal circumstances. God knows exactly what you need and He will speak those things into your life. That being said, one of the main focuses of this program is that you will learn to position your heart through prayer and worship to receive divine impartation.
Some of the more easily definable ways we position our hearts are through:
-
Teachings in the Song of Solomon, the Life of David, the Forerunner Spirit, the Fasted Lifestyle and the Bridal Paradigm
-
Group book studies covering authors who possess profound knowledge and insight and know by experience what the contemplative life and prayer are all about.
-
Training in Harp and Bowl intercession, prophetic singing, prayer leading, and running of the sound board
-
Learning to minister before the Lord in worship
-
Encouragement and experience in developing your giftings in both spiritual and natural areas (prophecy, healing, intercession, teaching, musical talents, relationships, etc.)
-
Cultivating Godly relationships with other believers who wish to go hard after God and who will come along side you to help build up your faith
Tuition/Cost
Tuition consists solely of a freewill offering at the end of the program. All books can be purchased at cost, prices will usually be around $10.00 a book. An application fee of $50.00 is due at the beginning of the internship. You can also expect occasional outings that will cost money, such as lunches, movie night snacks, OneThing conference in Kansas City, etc. These are optional however participation is encouraged.
